Blockchain technology has given us a very promising, trend-setting tool for the operational efficiency and transparency of the insurance sector and thereby increasing customer trust. The new platform is decentralized, transparent and secure, for which the Marlowe programming language of the University of Edinburgh and IOHK offers an open and user-friendly framework.
At the International Congress on Blockchain and Applications (BLOCKCHAIN'23) held in Portugal, Bransia Ayda, PhD student, presented the creation and evaluation of a smart contract-based insurance using Marlowe and Blockchain in her presentation, which earned her the Best Student Speaker award from Smart Cities journal.
